In addition to coming at a fraction of the environmental cost, the plant-based burger is also suitable for Buddhists, as it contains no alliums such as garlic and onions. It is served with freshly sliced tomatoes, shredded lettuce and a tomato sauce, sandwiched between a light-green coloured bun, which gets its natural tinge from spinach puree. Instead of a carbon-intensive beef patty, the meat-free version is made from a mix of soy-based protein, konnyaku or yam, and cabbage. It was developed in line with the SDGs as a more planet-friendly alternative option for consumers who want to reduce their carbon footprint. Called the MOS Plant-based Green Burger, the new burger imitates the classic MOS Burger, but does not contain any dairy, eggs or meat. The pumpkin croquette is more interesting than anything else but a good chance of pace if you don't want fries. The chicken and saku sauce actually tastes pretty good, much nicer than traditional fast food and is a fair portion size for a light lunch. I personally like the Saku Chicken Burger and usually pair it with the pumpkin croquette. You choose your burger which you can order on its own or as a set with fries, pumpkin croquette or chicken nuggets as well as a soft drink. It is not too dissimilar to ordering meal sets at McDonald's. The menu at MOS is found over the order counter and usually displayed in the window. At the moment, due to seating restrictions in our local restaurants they are offering 15% discount for take-away orders, a nice offer especially after 6pm when restaurants are no longer able to seat patrons. They offer delivery through deliveroo if you prefer to eat from within the comfort of your own home, office or area hotel.
